There’s so much to do at the beautiful Ness Creek Site! Here’s just a sampling of what you can fill your downtime with.
Wagon rides
Running throughout the weekend - a unique way to take in the sights! Admission is included with your festival pass. Pods of four will be led by none other than ‘The Turquoise Cowboy’ Glen Hegland!
HorseShoe Tournament
Cap the fun off with a high stakes horseshoe tournament! $1000 cash will be awarded to the winning team. Round those teams up now and get practicing!
BIKING TRAILS
Bring your own bike and discover 20kms of maintained trails through the boreal forest. Biking enthusiasts are in for a wild ride along the creek, through the forest and across bridges! Interpretive trail signage features original artwork from local artists.
HIKING TRAILS
Visit the Grandfather Tree, check out the original homestead, marvel at the hidden gems planted in the forest by tree planters and hippies through time. Grab a map and get exploring!
FLOATING DOWN THE CREEK
Bring your own dingy! Beat the heat by grabbing a fun floatie and then spend some time drifting down the lazy creek. Be sure to bring some shoes you can wear in the water to protect your feet. Waterproof speakers, anyone?
TOUR THE FOREST GARDEN
Take a closer look at the magical Forest Garden and meet the House Hen!
VOYAGEUR DAYS
6 teams of 6 people max will compete to win the fastest time around the course. The course will consist of 5 stations: canoe portage, flour packer, fire maker, log sawing and axe throwing. There will be 3 heats with two teams competing in each heat and all heats will be timed. Every competitor gets a prize!! Entry is included with your festival pass. More info here!
SWIMMING AT NESSLIN LAKE
Nesslin Lake is located 10 km from the Ness Creek Site. Lined with boreal forest, this gem of a place is perfect for relaxing or getting out on the lake. Hop in your car for a mini escape!
SHOPPING DOWNTOWN
Pop downtown and check out some amazing local vendors or grab some merch from your favourite artist!
SUNDAY PANCAKE BREAKFAST
Be sure to join us on Sunday for the Métis Kitchen Party and pancake breakfast! What a fantastic way to close out your weekend. And the best part is, breakfast is included with your festival pass!

STARGAZING
Orient to the expansive night sky through this walk amongst the stars that will journey you through easy to locate constellations, lore, & astrophysics of the vast universe we can witness with the naked eye on a summer night on the boreal plains.
